Kossi Agassa

Kossi Agassa ( born July 2, 1978 in Lomé ) is a Togolese football player. The 1.93m goalkeeper is currently at Stade Reims in France under contract. He was goalkeeper of the Togolese national team at the World Cup 2006.

Career

Kossi Agassa, in a poor neighborhood of Togo's capital Lomé grew up, was discovered by talent scouts of the club Étoile Filante de Lome and put under contract in 1997. In 2001 he moved to Africa Sports, one of the biggest clubs in the Ivory Coast. First Agassa was only goalkeeper when Jean- Jacques Tizié the club but left, Agassa was goalkeeper.

In February 2002 Kossi Agassa changed on the recommendation of his friend Emmanuel Adebayor to Europe to FC Metz, where he was last hardly used any. For the season 2006/ 07 he moved to Hércules CF from Alicante in Spain, then back to France to Stade Reims.

In the 2009/10 season he was loaned to FC Istres and since his return to Reims goalkeeper.

For the Togolese national team, making his debut in the Agassa 1998, he completed 51 international matches (as of 19 June 2006). He was instrumental in qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2006, which was the biggest success of the team. In his home Kossi Agassa is very popular. Because of its benefits to him by fans nicknamed Magic Hands was awarded.
