Kostice (Břeclav District)

Kostice ( German Kostitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers east of Břeclav and belongs to Okres Břeclav.

Geography

Kostice is located on the right side of the Kyjovka in Dolnomoravský úval ( Southern March basin). Located northwest of the village flows the Svodnice. Four kilometers east of the village is the March the border with Slovakia, six and a half kilometers toward the south west lies the border with Austria. Southwest of Kostice leads the motorway D 2 in Slovakia. At the southeastern edge of the pond Kostičky fishpond is located.

Neighboring towns are Hrušky in the north, and Tvrdonice CUNIN in the northeast, and Gbely Smolinské to the southeast, and Brodské Lanzhot in the south, Bernhard Thal and Reintal in the southwest, Břeclav in the west and Stara Břeclav, Ladná and U Nádrazí in the northwest.

History

In the early Middle Ages the town was part of the hinterland of the Great Moravian center Pohansko ( north Břeclav). After its demise in the early 10th century a central settlement with agricultural, craft and mercantile character, which flourished until the 12th century developed locally.

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1348, the government acquired Týnec Margrave Jobst of Moravia with the villages Tvrdonice, Kostice, Dluhonice, Hrušky, Lanzhot and the town Týnec. After numerous changes of owners Karl Eusebius of Liechtenstein in 1638 acquired the rule. Until the 17th century invaded over the March ford at Brodské often hostile armies in the country. The area between Kostice, Tvrdonice and Lanzhot was regarded as an open door to Moravia and the three villages had to regularly suffer from the people of war. In 1845 the school was included in Kostice.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kostice / Kostitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district Hodonín. 1874, a cemetery was created. In 1883 the school moved into a new building. Early as 1910, was re-built a new school house. In 1925, the City Hall. 1945, the community was associated with the Okres Břeclav. Gepfarrt the village has always been and jeh to Tvrdonice. Since 2004, the municipality performs a coat of arms and banners. Located northwest of the village extends a petroleum and natural gas deposits. North and south are vineyards and orchards.
