Kostrzyn

Kostrzyn ( German Kostschin ) is a town in the Greater Poland Voivodeship in powiat Poznański and seat of the urban and rural community Kostrzyn. Kostrzyn is located 21 km east of Poznań. It is located on the regional road 92 and on the railway line Berlin- Warsaw.

History

In a document from the year 1251 is that the Grand Duke Przemysl I of the city Kostrzyn city rights analogous to the city Rogoźno ( Rogasen ) issued.

At the market place, a monument was built in honor of the 27 inhabitants of Kostrzyn, who were executed on 20 October 1939 under the company Tannenberg built.

Architectural monuments include the late Gothic Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul from the 16th century and the town houses along the Średzka street from the 18th century ( house numbers 30 and 35) and from the 19th century ( house numbers 2 and 4).
