Kota Bharu (also Kota Baru, Kota Bahru or Kota Baharu ) is the capital of the State of Kelantan in Malaysia. In 2004, the population was estimated at 280,000 inhabitants. The city's name is Malay and means New Town or New Fortress / Fort.
