Kota Darul Ehsan

The Kota Darul Ehsan is a representative gate construction, which spans the six-lane Federal Highway in Malaysia and the border between the Federal Territory ( Wilayah Persekutuan ) of Kuala Lumpur and the Malaysian state of Selangor marked.

Architecture

Passage for the two carriageways are two long-span pointed arches, which are grouped together by a common narrow attica - like zone. The gate is crowned by a delicate lantern: Delicate columns support the typical Islamic architecture horseshoe arches on which an onion dome rests. Two small lanterns with simple onion dome sitting on the outer ends of Attica. On both sides of the door followed by two low, reaching only to the apex of the arches, narrower wings, which are also surmounted by lanterns with onion domes and where gates with horseshoe arches open as a passage for pedestrian paths.

On each side of the Kota Darul Ehsan two historical cannons are installed. At the two flagpoles on the vertices of the arcs waving the flags of Malaysia and Selangor.

History

To commemorate the cession of Kuala Lumpur to the Federal Government, the then Sultan of Selangor, Salahuddin Abdul Aziz, the construction was on 1 February 1974 in order.
