Kota (Hindi: कोटा, Kota ) is a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan on the eastern bank of the river Chambal. It is the capital of the district of the same and has about one million inhabitants ( 2011 census ).

Around the city, millet, wheat and coriander are grown. The most important industry is the processing of cotton.
