Kouts is a town in Porter County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Indiana, United States with 1698 inhabitants. The metropolitan area has a size of 2.9 km ², the population density is 585.4/km ² (2001 )

History

Kouts was created in 1865 as a branch of settlers who pursued into this region along the Kankakee River. Was named the place after the Barnhardt Kouts family.
