Krakowskie Przedmieście

Krakowskie Przedmieście ( [ krakɔfsk ʲ ɛ pʂɛdmjɛɕt͡ɕɛ ] listen? / I, German Krakow suburb ) is a shopping street in Warsaw.

It connects the outlying town with the town center. The road begins at the Palace Square, where there was the broken in the 19th century Cracow Gate. It runs southwards parallel to the Vistula river, above a steep embankment. Along the broad road are the most beautiful churches and palaces in Warsaw and the old campus and the Academy of Art. Transverse to Krakow suburb runs the Saxon axis.

The reconstruction after 1945 equaled the heights of the houses and simplified the ornaments of the facade. 2006-2008, the road has been thoroughly modernized, she received widened sidewalks and a narrow lane from Chinese granite slabs. It's just the bus and taxi traffic is allowed.

Together with the Nowy Swiat Street and Aleje Ujazdowskie it is the silver bullet.
