Krisztina Czakó

Krisztina Czakó [ kristinɒ ʦɒko ː ] ( born December 17, 1978 in Budapest, Hungary ) is a former Hungarian figure skater. Czakós mother Klara was speed skater, while her father and coach György Czakó was even figure skaters and former Hungarian champion. György Czakó Krisztina started training before she was a year old. He made himself the skates for his daughter, because there was none in this small size.

Kristina Czakó was the youngest participant at the Olympic Winter Games in 1992 with then 13 years and 2 months. 1994 and 1995 she participated in the Junior World Championships and was second or third. At their third Olympic Winter Games she could not participate due to injury.

Kristina Czakó was regarded as particularly athletic runner. So it was after the short program often on good grades, she could not look for the free skate. It was late during their amateur career, she tried to pay special attention to the artistic expression. This paid off in 1997. She ran to the music of The Addams Family their most popular program and became vice European champion. This silver medal was the first for Hungary at the European Figure Skating Championships Ladies since 1971.

After the end of her figure skating career, she worked as a preschool teacher in Budapest.
