Krzemity ( German Cremitten from 1938 Kremitten ) is a village in Poland in the Warmia - Mazury. The place is part of the municipality Korsze in powiat Kętrzyński.

Geography

Krzemity is located in the north of Poland, approximately 20 kilometers south of the Polish border with Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast. About a kilometer west of the village flows the brook Sejna.

History

The system of today Krzemity was 1345-1351 with the award of the localization law by the Grand Master Heinrich Dusemer. On November 2, 1444 by Konrad Erlichshausen renewed the permit. 1786 passed in the settlement of 15 residential buildings and a water mill. 1817 only ten houses were counted with an almost constant population.

Major A.D. Karl Freiherr von Mirbach was the last German owner of the goods at Kremitten. The property with an area of ​​362 hectares had been married at the time economically with the northern Believe Itten ( Glowbity ). The house was uninhabited before 1945. In January 1945, the Red Army occupied the area and in the aftermath of the Second World War, the village was part of Poland. The manor remained unused and fell into disrepair.
