Krzyki

Wrocław - Krzyki ( Krietern ) or simply Krzyki ( Krietern ) is a municipality in the south and southeast of the Polish city of Wroclaw.

General

Since 1990, the smaller districts ( pl. Osiedle ) have gained importance in the Polish local government policy, but a municipality as Krzyki still possesses some township authorities as its own financial authority ( pl. Urząd Skarbowy ), a health department or a police department.

As in 1945, the Red Army has stormed the fortress Breslau from the south and west, the inner-city neighborhoods of the district Krzyki / Krietern were (former William district) almost completely destroyed. They were built after the war housing estates. An area on the main road Aleja Powstańców Śląskich (Kaiser -Wilhelm -Allee, or " street of the SA" in the Nazi era ), about 1.5 km from the Market Square, remains undeveloped. On the southern edge of the area, the high-rise Poltegor is currently torn down (it was at 92 m roof height the tallest skyscraper in the city), on the northern edge of the largest hotel in town (Hotel Wrocław), but all plans of building a new Southern Center on several acres of land between these buildings remain unrealized. In the south of the borough are some of the prime residential areas of the city, especially the neighborhoods Oltaszyn / Oltaschin and Wojszyce / Woischwitz.

In the former suburb Klettendorf (now district Klecina ) was until 1945 one of the major sugar mills in which the well-known throughout Germany and neighboring countries refined sugar refined sugar was produced Velcro villages. The trading under the name of Vom Rath, Schoeller & Skene factory had grown through mergers with other sugar factories in the district of Wroclaw (eg Koberwitz, Kreika ).
