Krzywiń

Krzywiń ( German Kriewen ) is a town in Poland, in Wielkopolska. It is the seat of city and rural community in the powiat Koscianski.

History

The first mention of today's Krzywiń dates back to 1237th In the second half of the 13th century, the city received city rights. At the Second Partition of Poland, the city fell to Prussia. 1807, the town is part of the Duchy of Warsaw was newly formed in 1815 before it came back to Prussia. 1900 took the narrow gauge railway Śmigielska Kolej Dojazdowa their operation of Kriewen to Alt Boyen (Stare Bojanowo ) on. After the First World War, the town was 1919/1920 part of the re- created Poland. In September 1939, the site was occupied during the Polish campaign of the German Wehrmacht. The occupation lasts until the arrival of the Red Army in 1945. Subsequently the place was again part of Poland.
