Kuchurhan

Kutschurhan (Ukrainian Кучурган; Russian Kutschurgan, formerly German Strasbourg ) is a village in the south of Ukraine, about 60 kilometers northwest of Odessa near the border with Moldova.

West of the town runs the river of the same Kutschurhan, an important border crossing to Moldova leads in place as part of the M 16 via a bridge on to Transnistria.

The village was founded in 1808 under the name of Strasbourg as the settlement of the Black Sea Germans in the colonists District Kutschurgan. 1865 got the place a railway connection with the construction of the northern railway station, on today's railway Rosdilna - Iaşi. After the expulsion and deportation of the German population in the city in 1944, the German name was settled and named after the nearby river.
