Kühren - Burkartshain was the name of a local authority in the Saxon Muldentalkreis. The kreisangehorige community in the center of the circle was formed on 1 January 1994 from the merger of the previously independent municipalities Burkartshain and Kühren. With effect from 1 October 2006 it was incorporated into the city Wurzen.

Geography and transport

Kühren - Burkartshain was about 10 km southeast of Wurzen and about 18 km north-east of Grimsby at an altitude of 145 meters. History

With the settlement of Treaty of 1154 Gerung Bishop of Meissen settled in the village Coryn, today Kühren to Flemish peasants with great privileges. 16 peasant families received 17 hooves country, hoofs the church. The Kührener Elephant
