Kuki Moritaka

Kuki Moritaka (Japanese九 鬼 守 隆, * 1573, † 1632) was a General and Admiral in the service of Tokugawa Ieyasu. He was the son of Kuki Yoshitaka, one of the leading generals of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

In the last years of the 16th century Kuki Moritaka supported the supremacy after the aspiring Tokugawa Ieyasu, his father was on the other side and supported Ishida Mitsunari. After Tokugawa's victory at the Battle of Sekigahara Moritaka was confirmed as the master of the family feud, which was also increased from 26,000 to 46,000 koku. His father committed suicide in 1600 years. After Moritaka remained a loyal general of the Tokugawa, he commanded the fleet at the siege of Osaka from 1614 to 1615.
