Kullu (Hindi: कुल्लू, Kullu ) is a city in the northern Indian Himachal Pradesh and the administrative seat of the homonymous district with 18,306 inhabitants.

The place is located in the Kullu Valley at about 1200 meters on the river bed of the Beas, which divides the city and run over the several bridges. About 9 kilometers south is the Bhuntar Airport.

Kullu is the traditional center of the northern Himachal Pradesh and seat of the Rajas of Kullu, which is formally deposed since the mid 19th century, but still plays an important role both as a "host" the meeting of the local deities of the valley, the " Kullu Dussehra " ( one of the most important religious festivals of India) as well as an elected member of the Indian Parliament ( Lok Sabha ). During the Kullu Dussehra find numerous processions in and around Kullu and the central festival area offers festival atmosphere.

Kullu is a commercial center. Main economic factors are agriculture (apples, plums, peas and almonds; red rice ) and crafts. In addition, the tourism ( Indian tourists; fewer foreigners ) plays an important role.
