Kulturværftet

Kulturværftet ( German " The Culture Yard " ) in the Danish town of Helsingør is the cultural center of Helsingør municipality. It is housed in the buildings of the former shipyard in the port of Helsingør Helsingør Skibsværft. Located between Kronborg Castle and Danserindebrønden are there on an area of ​​13,000 sqm including the Værftmuseet (shipyard museum) and the Central Library of the Helsingør municipality.

The building 10 ( Bygning 10), the former office building of the shipyard, now includes a showroom and office premises of the library. Kulturværftet was opened on 10 October 2010 at 10:10 clock after the shipyard was remodeled and expanded according to plans by the architects AART A / S from 2008 to 2010 for 286 million DKR. The proposal of the Aarhus architects won an open architectural competition, which was announced by the Helsingør municipality together with the Akademisk Arkitekturforening in December 2005.
