Kunsthalle Budapest

The Kunsthalle Budapest ( Műcsarnok, literally " Kunsthalle ") is an exhibition building at Budapest's Heroes Square, built according to the design of architect Albert Schickedanz and Fülöp Herczog, inaugurated in December 1895., It is not confused with the modern Palace of Arts ( Művészetek Palotája, short MuPa ) at the Komor Marcell útca 1, inaugurated on 14 March 2005. Kunsthalle located on the Dózsa György út 37, the main façade is the Heldenplatz ( heroes' Square ) facing. Opposite the Kunsthalle is the Museum of Fine Arts ( Museum of Fine Arts ), designed by the same team of architects and inaugurated in 1906. The Kunsthalle does not have its own art collection; it houses important temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. The architecture of the Kunsthalle represents an extreme example of eclecticism; there are no signs of the time incurred Jugendstil noticeable. At the Kunsthalle Budapest since 2007 belongs organizationally Ernst Muzeum in Nagymező utca 8 and Dorottya Galéria in Dorottya utca 8
