Kurdistan Communist Party – Iraq

The Communist Party of Kurdistan (Kurdish Partiya Komunîstî Kurdistan, English Kurdistan Communist Party, حزبي شيوعى كوردستان - عيراق ) is a Kurdish faction of the Iraqi Communist Party.

The PPP was founded in 1993 at the third Congress of the Iraqi Communist Party by Karim Ahmed Peerdaud. She was one of the first political parties, which demanded that a transitional government in Iraq after the fall of the regime of Saddam Hussein is to be used.

In April 2004, Kamal Shakir took over the lead of the party.
