Kurt Gruber

Kurt Gruber ( born October 21, 1904 in Syrau, Vogtland, † December 24, 1943 in Dresden ) was a German Nazi politician and from 1926 to 1931 the first chairman of the Hitler Youth ( HJ).

Career

After the failure of the Hitler-Ludendorff - Putsch of 1923 several groups from the Youth League of the NSDAP were continued under code names. Ultimately, only one group in Plauen in Vogtland could keep Kurt Gruber.

Gruber was able to increase the number of members. In 1926 at the instigation of Gruber's merger of some of these groups under the name " Great German Youth Movement " ( GDJB ) about. This was initially limited to axis movement now placed himself under the - after Hitler's release from prison - the newly formed Nazi party but was still not a party youth in the true sense.

After a brief power struggle with the founded by Gerhard Rossbach " Schill Youth" Gruber finally prevailed, and his " Great German youth movement " became the official youth organization of the Nazi Party. In July 1926 she was renamed " Hitler Youth, League of German Worker Youth".

In October 1931 Gruber gave up his position and was replaced by Theodor Adrian von Renteln, the Reich Leader of the National Socialist German Students.

Gruber joined the Nazi Party leadership of the NSDAP and in the Supreme SA Leadership. In 1939 he was Gauamtsleiter for local politics in Gau Saxony NSDAP. He was also Sportgauführer and publisher of the journal Nazi community.

He died at the age of 39 years from the effects of stroke.
