Kurt Haertel

Kurt Haertel ( born September 26, 1910 in Berlin, † March 30, 2000 in Seefeld am Ammersee ) was a lawyer and 1963-1975 President of the German Patent Office.

Dr. Kurt Haertel began in 1948 in the Legislative Affairs Office of the United Economic Area as head of the " Intellectual Property " and was instrumental in the construction of industrial property protection in Germany. He was 1963-1975 President of the German Patent Office in Munich and is considered the " father of European patent law ." Among other things, is named for Intellectual Property at the University of Hagen after him the Kurt Haertel Institute.
