Kwans

Kwan ( Kor. 관, Hanja馆, Revised Romanization: Gwan ) literally means " hall ". In the Korean martial arts so that a martial arts school, or a group of martial arts schools is often referred to. In this sense, Kwan can also be translated as "union ".

The head of a Kwan is called in Korean Kwanjang ( 관장 ,馆长, Revised Romanization: Gwanjang ). To address a Kwanjang is the particle - nim hired back ( Kwanjangnim ).

A martial arts school can be called in Korean also Dojang ( 도장 ,道场, literally meaning " way place "). This especially true when the corresponding martial art " -do" ( German "way", "method" ) ends.
