Kweku Essien

Kweku Essien ( born December 12, 1984 in Kumasi ) is a Ghanaian footballer who temporarily belonged to the second division squad VfL Osnabrück in the 2007/ 08 season.

Career

On January 17, 2008, the two sides broke up the contract. After positions with the Ghanaian clubs FC Maamobi and Hearts of Oak he plays since August 2008 with the Israeli club FC Ashdod. In April 2009 he returned to Ghana and signed at Sekondi Wise Fighters. Essien, he moved in January 2011 to Brong Ahafo Stars and in September of the same year, he signed with Ghana Premier League Movers Wassaman United.

Before moving to Osnabrück Essien played at King Faisal Babes in the Ghanaian Premier League and was elected there to the most valuable player of the season 2006/ 07. For the national team of Ghana he has so far completed two international matches and several junior internationals. Prior to the 2007/08 season, a change to Hertha BSC failed just barely.
