Kyle Cook

Kyle Cook ( born August 29, 1975 in Frankfort / Indiana) is an American musician. He became known mainly as lead guitarist of U.S. band Matchbox Twenty.

Career

Unlike the other members of Matchbox Twenty (Rob Thomas, Paul Doucette and Brian Yale ) Kyle Cook did not play in the previous band Tabitha's Secret, but came only in 1995 to the founding of Matchbox Twenty, along with Adam Gaynor added. The latter left the band in 2005. In addition to the part as lead guitarist Cook is also responsible for the background vocals in all the songs ever since. In 2001, he played lead guitar in the song Visions of Paradise by Mick Jagger. In the song Unwell by Matchbox Twenty, he also took over the banjo. For the 2003 published Matchbox Twenty Album More than you think you are, he wrote the songs feel and soul. During the nearly four -year hiatus from Matchbox Twenty in the years 2004 to 2007, he worked as lead guitarist for the song Something to be on the eponymous solo album from Matchbox Twenty singer Rob Thomas. Thereafter he devoted himself to his second band The new left, where he is also active as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist. In 2007 appeared the fourth Matchbox Twenty Exile on Mainstream album he wrote the songs If I fall and Can not let you go. Before he ever got to play the guitar, he played classical violin for five years.

Kyle Cook is married to his wife Sabrina since 1999 and has two daughters ( twins ).
