Kyon

Kyon (Japaneseキョン, Kyon ) is one devised by Nagaru Tanigawa and Noizi Ito -drawn figure. He is the male protagonist and narrator in the Light Novel series Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu. Through the series of novels, a manga series of the same name, the anime television series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Character and single Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu Character Song Vol 9 Kyon the figure became internationally known.

Formation

The character Kyon is a creation of Nagaru Tanigawa. His outward appearance was designed by Noizi Ito. Originally Kyon should occur as ESP talented person in appearance. However, the author decided, after the first draft, present it as ordinary students.

His nickname Kyon was awarded to him in the work of his grandmother and spread by his younger sister, called him to his chagrin never Onii- chan (お 兄ちゃん, dt " older brother "). His real name is never mentioned in the factory. So is John Smith (ジョン スミス, Jon Sumisu ) only a pseudonym of Kyon, he gave himself to hide his identity from the young Haruhi during a time travel into the past.

Position in the works

Although Haruhi Suzumiya is mentioned as a protagonist in the title of the franchise and it is the cause of all events, the story is told from the perspective of Kyon - the only normal human in the SOS Club Member Brigade founded by Haruhi. As a male high school students in the first year, he says with sarcastic comments about the absurdity of the club activities. He does not address it directly to the audience, but presented an internal monologue. In the light novel is often unclear whether only his inner thoughts are represented or it is loudly uttered words, because the other characters respond to those comments in part. Kyon refers in his statements one already with future events, but without revealing any details about this.

Voice Actors

In the original Japanese Kyon was played by Tomokazu Sugita the seiyū. In the German dubbing Michael Baral took over his role.

Success in the Japanese singles chart

The single Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu Character Song Vol 9 Kyon (涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱 キャラクターソングVol 9キョン) was published on 21 February 2007 and was released by the record label Lantis. It was sung by Tomokazu Sugita and accompanied by Aya Hirano's low level of background vocals. Although it was the last single release of the franchise, the last CD of the protagonist Kyon won the 9th place of the Japanese singles chart, where it was found for twelve weeks.
