Kyösti Virrankoski

Kyösti Virrankoski ( born April 4, 1944 in Kauhava, Finland) is a Finnish politician and from 1996 to 2009 Member of the European Parliament for the Finnish Centre Party, as a member of the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.

Virrankoski made ​​1972 his state examination in philosophy at the University of Helsinki. 1968 to 1974 worked as a teacher of mathematics and environmental science, he then worked as a lecturer in mathematics ( 1974-1983, 1987-1991 and 1995-1996 ).

Politically, Virrankoski operated from 1973 to 2000 as a member of the community and city council Kauhava and was in this period from 1977 to 1989 member of the community and city council of the city.
