Kyoto City University of Arts

The Kyoto - Shiritsu Daigaku Geijutsu (Japanese京都 市立 芸 术 大学, dt " Municipal School of Art Kyoto ."; Engl Kyoto City University of Arts) is an art school founded in 1880 in Kyoto. It has the oldest history of all art colleges in Japan, making it older than the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.

History

The college was (京都 府 画 学校, dt " painting school of Kyoto Prefecture ," engl. Kyoto Prefectural School of Painting) founded in 1880 as Kyoto -fu Gagakkō with temporary seating in the gardens of Kyoto Imperial Palace. After 1889, the ownership was transferred to the city, they renamed themselves in Kyoto -shi Gagakkō (京 都市 画 学校, dt " painting school of Kyoto city ," engl. Kyoto Municipal School of Painting) by. 1891, renamed itself in Kyoto -shi Bijutsu Gakko (京 都市 美术 学校, dt "Art school of the city of Kyoto ," engl. Kyoto Municipal School of Arts), 1894 in Kyoto -shi Bijutsu Kogei Gakko (京 都市 美术 工 芸 学校, dt. " arts and crafts school in the city Kyoto ", engl. Kyoto Municipal School of Arts and Crafts) and 1901 in Kyoto - Shiritsu Bijutsu Gakko (京都 市立 美术 学校, dt "Urban craft School Kyoto ", engl. Kyoto city School of Arts) in order.

In 1909 she was under the control of the Ministry of Education and has been in Kyōto- Shiritsu Kaiga Semmon Gakko (京都 市立 絵 画 専 门 学校, dt "Urban painting technical school Kyōto ," engl. Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting) renamed. 1926 the school moved to after Hiyoshi -chō, Imakumano, Higashiyama -ku.

1945 was followed by the foundation as Kyōto Shiritsu Bijutsu - Semmon Gakko (京都 市立 美术 専 门 学校, dt "Urban Art School Kyoto ", engl. Kyoto City Specialist School of Arts). In 1950, she was elevated to the status of a college and named in Kyōto Shiritsu Bijutsu Daigaku - (京都 市立 美术 大学, dt " Municipal School of Art Kyoto ," engl. Kyoto City College of Arts) in order. In 1952, the short- School of Music Kyōto- Shiritsu Ongaku Tanki Daigaku (京都 市立 音 楽 短期 大学, dt "Urban Short School of Music " engl. Kyoto City Junior College of Music) founded in Tatemoto -chō, Izumoji, Kita- ku, 1956 moved to Entomi -chō, Shogoin, Sakyō -ku. 1969, renamed itself in Kyoto - Shiritsu Daigaku Geijutsu (京都 市立 芸 术 大学, dt " Municipal School of Art Kyoto ," engl. Kyoto City University of Arts) in order and established the Faculty of Music. In 1980 she moved to Kutsukake -chō, Ōe, Nishikyo -ku. In the same year Bijitsu Kenkyūka was (美术 研究 科, Eng. Graduate School of Art) and in 1986 the Kenkyūka Ongaku (音 楽 研究 科, Eng. Graduate School of Music ) was founded.
