Kyrgyzstan Air Company

Air Kyrgyzstan (formerly Altyn Air or Russian - Kyrgystan International) is a Kyrgyz airline based in Bishkek. Its primary hub is the Manas airport and a further stroke in Osh.

History

The airline was dismissed from the Aeroflot to independence in 1999. At that time, however, the airline was still Russian - Kyrgystan International. Only in 2001 it was renamed the Altyn Air and adopted in the same year the flight operations. On 28 August 2006, the airline was renamed Air Kyrgyzstan. Due to serious security flaws Air Kyrgyzstan has been like all other Kyrgyz airlines included in the black list of the EU air carriers so that there is a Banned in the EU for all machines.

Objectives

Air flies Kyrgyzstan nationally to the largest cities. Furthermore, international destinations served in Russia, Tajikistan, UAE and Uzbekistan. In Germany the objectives Frankfurt and Hannover were served, however, had to be canceled indefinitely because of the EU test flight ban.

Incidents

  • On 28 December 2011, a Tupolev Tu- 134A -3 came off after landing in Osh from the runway and flipped over. Of the 79 inmates 31 were injured; the aircraft with the registration EX -020 was destroyed.
