Kyriakoulis Mavromichalis

Kyriakoulis Petrou Mavromichalis (Greek Κυριακούλης Μαυρομιχάλης; * 1849 or 1850 in Athens, † 1916) was a Greek politician and Prime Minister of 1909 until 1910.

He came from the well-known family Mavromichalis from the Mani and was a grandson of freedom fighter of the same name († July 4, 1822 ) of the Greek Revolution of 1821.

In 1879, he began his political career with the election of the deputies of the National Assembly ( Vouli ton Ellinon ). Later he was interior minister in the cabinets of Theodoros Deligiannis ( 1895-1897, 1902-1903 ) and Dimitrios Rallis (1905 ). In the Cabinets of Deligiannis and Rallis he was from 1904 to 1905 and military ministers.

After the fall of the government of Dimitrios Rallis he was on August 28, 1909 Finally, even Prime Minister. Due to the pressure from the powerful military league he had adopted during his short tenure some basic laws for the organization of the army, the judiciary and the educational system. After disagreements with the Military League, he resigned on 31 January 1910.
