Kyu Shiba Rikyu Garden

The Shibarikyu Park (Japanese旧 芝 离宫 恩赐 庭园, Kyū Shiba Rikyū Onshi files ) is a park from the Edo period in the district of Minato in Tokyo.

In the Kan'ei - time (1624-1644) was located in the region of the residence, the princes ( daimyo ) of Aizu, Katō Yoshiaki. 1678 took over the Prince of Odawara and Chancellor ( roju ) of the Shogun, Okubo Tadatomo ( 1652-1712 ), the property and designed the garden, which he called Rakujuen. The small park surrounds a relatively large pond with three islands, Nakajima ( which stands for the mythical Hōraijima ) Ukijima and Ōshima. A characteristic element is the dam across the West Lake ( China) Nakajima, which is also found in the Koishikawa Korakuen. There are small hills, Ōyama, Karatsuyama ( memory of the former fief of the Okubo, Karatsu ).
