L'Houmeau

L' Houmeau is a West commune with 2461 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Charente -Maritime in the Poitou -Charentes. It belongs administratively to the district of La Rochelle and the District of La Rochelle - ninth Residents L' Houméens call themselves.

Geography

The municipality is located in the metropolitan area north of La Rochelle and is bordered to the west by the Atlantic Ocean. Neighboring municipalities are:

  • Nieul- sur -Mer in the north,
  • Lagord in the east and
  • La Rochelle in the south.

Transport links

L' Houmeau lies off about regional transport links and is served by the department road D106. Just south of the municipal boundary is the airport La Rochelle - Île de Ré.
