La Chapelle-Blanche, Côtes-d'Armor

La Chapelle- Blanche ( Breton Ar Chapel- If; Gallo La Chapell Blaunch ) is a municipality in the region of Brittany, ( January 1, 2011 level ) in the department of Côtes- d'Armor with 190 inhabitants in France.

The inhabitants call themselves Chapellois or Chapelloises.

Geography

La Chapelle- Blanche is located in the southeast of the département right on the border of the departments of Cotes -d'Armor and Ille -et -Vilaine. Neighboring towns are Saint -Jouan -de- l'Isle in the West, Caulnes the northwest, Guitté in the northeast, Médréac in the east and in the south Quédillac. The community is located 22 km south of the town of Dinan. Through the community of the Rance River flows.

History

When the place was inhabited, is not precisely known. In particular, it is mentioned in the 12th century for the first time. Until the construction of the Pont de L' Isle towards Saint -Jouan -de- l'Isle the community was very isolated. 1577, the settlement became a separate parish. The village belonged from 1793 to 1801 as district Broons and Canton Caulnes. 1801 the district was abolished and instead the canton Caulnes the Canton Saint -Jouan -de- l'Isle, which belonged to the church was built. Since December 1881 Caulnes is again capital of Canton Caulnes.

Policy

Mayor of the town since 2001 Gérard Bertrand. He was elected in 2008 for a second term. The municipality belongs to the Communauté de communes du Pays de Caulnes.

Traffic

The village lies on the highways RD 220 and RD 59 The rail connection from Brest to Paris through the community.
