La Ferrière-sur-Risle

La Ferrière- sur -Risle is a commune with 257 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Eure in the Haute-Normandie region. It belongs to the Local Government Association, Pays de Conches. La Ferrière- sur -Risle has the highest population density of Municipalities of the canton of Conches -en- Ouche and the second highest population density of the communities of the whole department.

Geography

La Ferrière- sur -Risle is located in northern France in the Pays d' Ouche, 74 kilometers northeast of Le Havre and 26 kilometers southwest of Évreux, the capital of the department of Eure. Neighboring communities of La Ferrière- sur -Risle are Ajou the northwest, Collandres - Quincarnon in the northeast, Sébécourt the east and Champignolles in the southwest. History

There are traces of an ancient pathway, which was associated with the Roman road from Brionne ( Breviodurum ) to Dreux ( Durocasses ) At the boundary of the municipality. Culture and sights

One of the tanneries of La Ferrière- sur -Risle was in use until the 20th century. The building now belongs to the Communauté de communes du Pays de Conches. It is used for cultural events since 2010.

There is a primary school in La Ferrière- sur -Risle and several shops, including a food retail and a bakery. The nearest railway station is at the cantonal capital of Conches -en- Ouche. The nearest airport is Rouen 52.8 km distant airport.

In 2009, 18.3 per cent of workers were employed in the town, the others were commuters. 11.7 percent of workers were unemployed.
