La Haie-Fouassière
La Haie- Fouassière (also: La Haye- Fouassière ) is a commune of the Loire-Atlantique department in the Pays de la Loire. Administratively, it is assigned to the Canton Vertou - Vignoble and the district Nantes.

Geography
The winery town with 4339 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) is located on the Sevre Nantaise about 15 kilometers south-east of Nantes. Through the northern municipality of the National Road 249 from Nantes runs over Cholet after Parthenay. La Haie- Fouassière is served by the Zugfernstrecke Nantes -La Rochelle -Saintes. In addition, the municipality is thanks to the tram-train from Nantes to Clisson and regionally well-connected.
History
Toponymy
The place name is composed of Old French haye sharks (German, Heath ') and fouace together. Fouace is a (fine ) pastry - the Fouace nantaise in particular a cookie in the shape of a star. A Fouassière is the place where this treat is made.

Blazon: Azure on a bar as Golden Wave - ( heraldic ) right of a grapevine and accompanied by a Fouace left, all of gold; about a main shield of ermine.
Demographics
The municipality, which today belongs to the agglomeration of Nantes, has developed very dynamically in recent decades.
Economy
Biscuit factory
In La Haie- Fouassière since 1986 is on the biscuit factory Lefèvre Utile (LU ) that the food giant Kraft Foods is today. Originally from Nantes, today with around 500 employees manufactured in La Haie- Fouassière 44,000 tons of biscuits and crackers ( LU throughout the company produced 232,000 tons 3,300 employees, as of 2004).
Viniculture
La Haie- Fouassière, in addition to some 90 other communities share in the wine region Gros Plant du Pays Nantais of the Loire wine region. The dry white wines are made from grapes Folle Blanche. In addition, the municipality may another dry white wine that is made from the Melon de Bourgogne grape, Muscadet market under the denomination of origin Sevre et Maine AOC.
