La Matanie Regional County Municipality

La Matanie (before March 9, 2013 Matane ) is a regional county municipality (French municipalité régional du comté, MRC ) in the Canadian province of Quebec.

It is located in the administrative region of Bas- Saint- Laurent and consists of twelve subordinate administrative units (a city, seven churches, three Sprengel and an unincorporated community ). The MRC was established on 1 January 1982. The main town is Matane. Its population is 21 873 and the surface 3314.4 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 6.6 inhabitants per km ².
