La Meilleraie

The Salle de la Meilleraie is a multi-purpose hall in the French town of Cholet, Maine -et -Loire department. It is part of the exhibition center Parc des Expositions Meilleraie. The basketball team Cholet Basket bear its home games in 1987 opened hall. For basketball games does the hall seats 5,191. The Arena bears the nickname La Meilleraie and Le Hangar.

Since opening Cholet Basket wears his games out there. For € 200,000 you renewed in 2009 the parquet floor, two video scoreboards were installed and placed electronic advertising boards and renewed the timing system. The following year, was retrofitted with financial help from the city of 275,000 € the hall for the ULEB Euro League. In return, had qualified with Cholet Basket of the French Cup in 2010.

The Salle de la Meilleraie is not contemporary with its facilities and its size. In 2005 the plans of a rejection is issued for a new building. It was doubted the viability of the construction of the city. Winning the French Cup in 2010 brought the project rolling again. It is planned to build a new hall. Mainly it will be used by the Cholet Basket; but it should also be usable for concerts or other events. Depending on the configuration, the hall should be designed for 5000-8000 visitors. It is calculated at a cost of € 12 to 15 million. Completion is scheduled for 2015. The search is still looking for a location of the new hall.
