La Montagne (Loire-Atlantique)

La Montagne is a commune with 5972 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Loire -Atlantique in the Pays de la Loire. It belongs to the district Nantes, in the canton of Le Pellerin and Unité urbaine Nantes Métropole.

Geography

La Montagne is situated near the Loire River approximately twelve miles west of the city center of Nantes.

Neighboring municipalities are Indre, Bouguenais, Brains and Saint -Jean -de- Boiseau.

Coat of arms

The black cross on a golden background is the symbol of the Pays de Retz, the anchor refers to the shipyards in the area, and the blue symbolizes the river Loire.
