La Renga

La Renga is a company incorporated in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires 1987 hard rock band.

Band History

The first live performances took place in 1988 in Greater Buenos Aires. As early as 1989 the group took on the pieces that came first in 1991 as Esquivando Charcos as a cassette on the market. Only in 1998 was the album out on CD. The production was done completely independently, without the support of a record company; distribution took over the band members themselves and their friends.

1993 produced the band 's second album - adónde Me Lleva La Vida - again without the support of a record company. However, she was now having appeared on various local and regional festivals so well known that the self-distribution could not meet the demand. The deal with Polygram, the band entered thereupon, guaranteed them absolute artistic freedom, the record company took care only to the production and sales of the CDs. In 1994, the band managed for the first time, the Estadio Obras Sanitarias to fill the basketball stadium of Club Atlético Obras Sanitarias de la Nación, the temple of the local rock music scene with around 5,000 seats. From the concert in Obras was also confirmed by the first live album by the band, Bailando en una pata, of which a year later, a DVD was released.

With the help of ex- sumo - member and singer of the group Divididos, Ricardo Mollo, played La Renga 1996, the third studio album Despedazado Por Mil Partes one. With the associated live performances, they succeed in the Obras four times to fill in succession and abroad to celebrate its first successes. In 1997, the band toured accordingly in Mexico and the United States.

In October 1997, the band played together with other local rock stars in front of 20,000 people in the Ferrocarril Oeste Stadium in a show in favor of the Madres de Plaza de Mayo, which existed at that time 20 years. Even at the end of the same year La Renga filled the stadium alone.

During the year 1998, the band toured mainly by Argentina, winning a lot of new audience. Also, Uruguay and Spain were on the tour schedule - after which the band took a break to hone on the next album. This album actually appeared without a name, the self "that with the star " called the band because of the cover, was published in September 1998 and reached platinum status within a week. With two appearances at the stadium of the football club Atlanta, the band reached 48,000 spectators. A tour with 22 performances by the Argentine provinces followed until September 1999. Two other impressive performances in Buenos Aires in the club CA Huracán stadium joined the tour with a look back at the past ten years.

In 2000, the band released La Esquina del Infinito and toured extensively throughout Argentina again, but also completed an appearance in Montevideo.

In May 2001, the Rengos returned to the stadium of Huracán to record the concert and bring as a double album under the title Insoportablemente Vivo in the same year in the stores. The concert was released as a film in a limited edition in selected cinemas across the country, years later (2004) on DVD. To celebrate the release of the live CD, the band returned in September to the place of their first major success, the Obras, back and filled the stadium on four evenings.

During the worst economic crisis in decades in 2002, the band played in front of 55,000 spectators in the stadium of CA River Plate. The audience got to their ticket EP Documento Único with the songs " en el espacio Dementes ", " Hielasangre " and " Detonador de sueños ". This last title was also the next studio album, released in late 2003. Included were both EP as the studio album completely in the sample space of the band, since a trademark. For the first time the tour kick-off did not take place in Buenos Aires, but in Córdoba. However, a concert in front of 73,000 fans in the stadium of River Plate in April 2004 was the culmination. In between, however, the band returned to the stadium of Huracán, in order there to record the second live DVD En el ojo del Huracán. The title " In the Eye of the Hurricane " is playing on the location of the stage in the middle of the stadium.

The first studio album in three years, the band released again in 2006 with the title TruenoTierra ( thunder earth). The tour started in Mar del Plata was marked by a terrible downpour that turned the stadium Mundialista in a mud field.
