La Rue Kétanou is a French band that combines elements of folk, reggae, pop and street music together. Your name is a corruption of the French phrase " La rue qui est à nous", which means as much as " The road belongs to us ."

History of the band

La Rue Kétanou consists of three musicians Florent Vintrigner, Olivier Leite and Mourad Musset, who met in Paris at the Théâtre du fil. The group began her career as a street musician, mainly in La Rochelle and Ile de Ré on where she designed her appearances as a mixture of musical performances and street theater. The motto of these first appearances was " C'est pas nous qui sommes à la rue, c'est la Rue Kétanou! " (Such as: " Do not we sit on the street, but the street belongs to us ").

After some time, in which the group was mainly occurred on the streets and in small clubs and bars, they learned Bibou, a member of the group Tryo know who offered them the opening act of his group perform them, as well yet purchased their first recording contract.

Their first album, En attendant les caravanes, was released in January 2001. Was followed by several concerts and performances at festivals until they finally in 2002 their next album Y'a of cigales dans la fourmilière ( " There are cicadas in the Ant Hill " ) brought out. Was published in 2004, the live album crotchless à double tour, after which rumors of a breakup of the group were loud. Officially, the group was, however, only in a hiatus that took advantage of the individual members to work on their own projects.

After a break of two years, she appeared in the summer of 2007 back to at least a dozen concerts. This gave them some new songs to the best and told repeatedly that they were engaged in the production of a new album. It was published in 2009 under the title "A CONTRESENS ".
