La Vela Puerca
La Vela Puerca is a Latin ska punk rock band from Montevideo / Uruguay.
History
The band was formed in 1995. In Germany it has not recently acquired by their appearances as support band for The Doctors fame. These in turn were already as support for La Vela Puerca traveling in South America; there fills the band's major concert halls and is considered one of the hallmarks of the Latin - Ska - although they move away stylistically from classic ska. Especially in Uruguay since the mid- 90s, a very present scene formed, which is also represented by bands like No Te Va Gustar or Abuela Coca.
