La Verrie

La locking is a commune in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire with 3758 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011).

The village is located about 50 km south-east of Nantes and 80 km from the Atlantic Ocean. A few miles away there is a connection point to the French motorway A 87

The municipal area is the 47th northern latitude and the first western longitude intersect.

On a blue background a golden crosier divides the square on the right side of an upright ox and can be seen on the left three ducks, all in silver.

Partnership

Since 1992 and 1994 respectively, there is a strong partnership between La locking and the German community Germaringen in the Allgäu region of Bavaria.
