La Victoria ( Nuestra Señora de la Victoria) is a city in the Venezuelan state of Aragua, the administrative seat of José Félix Ribas municipios. La Victoria is located between the river and the River Aragua Calanche the coastal mountains. Since 1960, the city has developed rapidly.

History

The first encomiendas were distributed in 1592. The first Spanish founding of the village has not been established. Some sources say, Francisco de Loreto La Victoria had founded in the late 16th century. Others say, the village began with the construction of a church on 18 November 1620. There are documents about this building.

In 1814, when the troops threatened under the direction of Boves Caracas, José Félix Ribas fortified in La Victoria with 1500 soldiers, half of whom are young students of the Universidad de Caracas were. They have done for nine hours resistance.
