Labotas

Labotas or Leobotes (Greek Λαβώτας and Λεωβώτης ) In Greek mythology, the son of Echestratos and the fourth king of Sparta from the House of Agiaden.

Since he was very young when his father died, initially led Lycurgus, the brother of his father, as guardian of the Labotas the government. During this period, as reported by Herodotus, Lycurgus is said to have issued the first sensible constitution and good laws. Pausanias says that this happened I only during the reign of Agesilaus. As Labotas was of age, he took over the government.
