The Réserve écologique du Lac - Malakisis is furnished in 1978, 2003 to 30.27 km ² enlarged protection area in the southwest of the Canadian province of Quebec in the MRC Témiscamingue. It is located 30 km east of the municipality Témiscaming.

The reserve was established to represent a typical for the region of the middle Laurentians stock of sugar maple and white birch forests and secure. The landscape consists of hills that reach heights of 300-412 m. Some lakes are located in the area, such as the eponymous 1.2 km ² Lac Malakisis. Here are some of the last pristine forests in Québec, so that many trees are over 250 years old.
