Ladislaus Kurpiel

Ladislaus Kurpiel ( born November 13, 1883 in Prague, Austria - Hungary, † June 1930 in Prague, Czechoslovakia ) was an Austrian football player.

The Boehme was in his time as one of the best center-half of the Austro -Hungarian Empire, was the DFC Prague 1903 German Vice Champion in 1912 and reached with the Austrian team to fifth place in the Olympics.

Career

Kurpiel began in 1896 as a thirteen- year-old with the association-moderate football game at DFC Germania Prague and soon moved on to the newly formed city rivals DFC Prague. The blue-white he came as a teenager on the first missions in the first team and grew over the years into one of the best " Central and Centrehalves " the entire monarchy. In the Austrian national Kurpiel debuted on June 7, 1906 in a 3-2 over Germany in Vienna. After his second outing against Hungary in 1908, he had to wait for his next international match until 7 May 1911. At that time he was the age of 28 already the oldest player of the DFC and had his sporting zenith somewhat exceeded loud contemporary newspaper reports.
