Geography

The San Geronimo Creek ( which is locally called Paper Mill Creek ) flows through both settlements and is one of the few remaining spawning grounds of the silver salmon.
Lagunitas and Forest Knolls located in the western half of the San Geronimo Valley and reach the wooded slopes to the south and the more grass-covered slopes up to the north.
Lagunitas is located on the eastern border of the Samuel P. Taylor State Park. As the park itself, the surroundings of Lagunitas -Forest Knolls is covered with coniferous forests.
