The Laila Peak is a 6986 m high mountain in the Rakaposhi - Haramosh Mountains in southwestern Karakoram in Gilgit -Baltistan, an autonomous region in northern Pakistan.

Location

The Laila peak is located between the Haramosh in the south and in the north Malubiting. Its west side drains into the Haramosh Valley to the Indus while its north-eastern side of the accumulation area of the glacier Chogo - Lungma heard. Under the southeast wall of the Haramosh Glacier also flows northeast to Chogo - Lungma Glacier.

Climbing history

The first ascent was members of a Japanese expedition on August 9, 1975. The first planned ascent via the east ridge was abandoned, Ryuichi Sakai Kohzo Babaguchi and reached the summit after a route with five high camp had been set up in the south-east wall.

In addition to summit

The Laila West is a 6770 meter high secondary summit of Laila ( saddle height: 230 m), which has not yet been climbed.
