Lajos Kovács

Lajos Kovács Nemes (* April 27, 1894 in Budapest, † unknown, nicknamed Ludwig) was a Hungarian football player and coach.

Career

Kovács began his career at MTK Budapest, where he brought it to the championship season 1913/14, under the Scottish coach Robertson to three inserts in the championship. However, since he could conquer a regular place, he left the club and was the smaller club Budapest VII Zuglói kerületi SC for service providers. In 1922, the defender came two appearances in the Hungarian national team when he made ​​his debut against Poland in May and a few weeks later on as a substitute in a game against Switzerland in the second half for Gyula Mándi. At the end of his active career Kovács moved to Italy, where he played from 1925 to 1927 for Novara Calcio.

In September 1927 Kovács became coach of VfB Stuttgart. After he won in December 1929 with VfB in the district league Württemberg Württemberg Championship, he left the Swabians, as the German club Kovács could not continue to finance.
