Lakas–CMD

The Lakas ( Lakas - fully in Filipino Demokratikong Kristiyano at Muslim), a center-right oriented political party in the Philippines.

Their ideology is christian democratic and Muslim- democratic. The party was formed in December 1991 as a spin-off from Laban was founded in 1988 and was a union of the Partido Lakas ng Tao of President Fidel Ramos and the Unión Nacional de Democratas Cristianos Raúl Sevilla Manglapus.

The Lakas united on June 18, 2008 with the Kabalikat ng Mala Yang Pilipino ( KAMPI ) and was called to the Lakas Kampi CMD May 11, 2012. President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo is the founder of Lakas, the party colors are gold, blue and green.

The Lakas has two seats in the Senado de Filipinas and is part of the run of the Partido Liberal majority coalition. While in the elections, the party won in 2010 47 % of the seats in the Cámara de Representantes de Filipinas, but most party members left the Lakas Kampi, which split into three groups: one moved to the Liberal Party, a second for the Partido de Unidad Nacional and the remaining minority to block the House of Representatives.

Lakas is with 14 of 292 seats in the Cámara de Representantes de Filipinas an opposition party. It represents one of the 80 provincial governors and vice- governors 3. In addition, it provides 18 of the 926 members together in all Provinzdirektorien. 2013 Bong Revilla Sr. took on the NUEE leadership of the party.
