Lake Ballivián

The Ballivián was a lake, which is said to have been in the Pleistocene ( 1600000-10000 ) at the current border Peru - Bolivia in the Andes. He should have filled in the entire area of the present Altiplano. After its dissolution he formed two smaller lakes, Lake Titicaca in the north of its territory and the Minchin Lake, the predecessor of the present Poopo Lake, in its south. It is believed that his level was about 100 m above the level of the current Lake Titicaca.
